Mother House is a 501(c)3 non-profit that shelters at-risk pregnant women. Mother House was founded in 1982, primarily by a small group of women taking into their own homes pregnant women, many from off the Pearl Street mall and along the banks of Boulder Creek. As the program grew, they rented a home near “The Hill”. They operated there for many years. After a major fund raising effort, a new home was custom-built for Mother House near downtown Boulder in 1996. With 5 bedrooms, as well as the director’s office and manager’s quarters, it can house up to 7 women and babies. They can come at any time during their pregnancy and stay up to 3 months after the birth of their baby.
Our quilts will be used on the beds and stay in the home, or the mothers can take them when they leave.
