Speaker: Kellie Kaczmarek from Silly Moon Quilt Co in British Columbia, Canada.- Lecture via Zoom

Our Program for October is all about quilting edge to edge designs using rulers, even on your domestic machine! Enter Kellie Kaczmarek from Silly Moon Quilt Co in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Kellie’s story begins with the quote “Do what you love, and the rest will fall into place”. She needed a hobby to help her relax and de-stress from co-running a business, raising two children and two dogs. Her home was already full of cross-stitched pictures, so after visiting a dear friend (who is a quilter) she was inspired to try her hand at this new craft, and after a visit to the fabric store she completed a flannel rag quilt for a family member with cancer and she was hooked!

Kellie is ready to show us how to tackle the dreaded “Quilt as Desired” at the end of many quilt patterns. She will be teaching us how quickly we can get our tops quilted on our home machine, but have them look like they were done professionally! Along with a presentation that includes examples of what you can do, you will learn tips and tricks for setting up your workspace and machine, preparing your quilt, choosing a design, and how to quilt and finish it. Let Kellie help you get those quilt tops from WIPS to DONE and looking fantastic while you actually enjoy the process.
